Hi,

I use VLC for a long time and use always the newest version of the 0.8.x and 0.9.x strain.

The reason I still use 0.8.x is that all versions of 0.9.x I used so far, including the most recent version 0.98 have the following problem:

Especially with low resolution videos I see very obvious pixely output. I guess this is no real bug, but I was used the VLC somehow puts a smoothing filter over the output. For me the smoothed output from 0.8.x is much nicer then the pixely output of 0.9.x

Funnily, 0.9.x temporarily activates some smoothing filter when you move the mouse in fullscreen mode but switches if off after while when you do not move the mouse anymore.

I haven't found a way in the 0.9.x preferences to switch on the smooth filter permanently.

Cheers..sb.
