As a couple of you may know (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?p=1230502#post1230502), my days at DivX ended a couple of weeks ago, so I've got a bit more free time on my hands. ;)
I will still be going to the big CES show this week, however. If you are not aware of it, it's the biggest consumer electronics show in North America, and basically takes over Las Vegas for a few days. I'll be doing some freelance stuff there (ask me if you want to know anything about boxee, Bug Labs, or Splashtop) but I'll also be doing a lot of just checking out whatever is interesting, cool, or just plain weird. Obviously, if you are looking for general news from the show, I would recommend Engadget or Gizmodo, but if there's something of particular interest to you guys, let me know and I'll make sure to find it. Post here or DM me.
No requests taken for the Adult Video expo, though! ;)

new & affordable Blu-ray players, media streamers (including what's coming from the PC side... e.g. nVidia's ION or AMD's new platform (name escapes me right now)) and new ideas in home entertainment networking (e.g. I've been waiting for a way to stream from my satellite dish to UPNP capable boxes for a long time so as to only need one type of cable to go everywhere) would certainly be interesting to a large audience that frequents this place.
And don't I get at least an autograph from Jenna Haze while you're there? ;)

I like that list! I'll see what's what, I have a feeling there are going to be LOTS of streaming based gadgets.

I actually went to the Adult Expo last year on business (no, really!) and it was pretty wild, and deeply weird. But no plans for it this year. :sly:

Why that doesn't surprise me, big market having the support of the XXX Mafia is a big + but still they prefer WMV over anything else for Download Distribution :) (can DivX 7 change that ???).
Im really sorry to hear kosmonaut you where expended hope you find someplace else to bring in your workforce and experience, best wishes from Germany.

Remember their trinitron line? Even my new 1k+ Euro Eizo LCD has a hard time against a used FW900. I hope they come up with something similar now via FED... First demos they showed looked promising! :]

well, if you could ask TI when the damn DC4 panels are gonna make it mainstream ? :D
they said Q4 2008, and there's only a bunch of very pricey pj's that offer it(marantz)
and if they think that cheap SXRD are gonna kill DLP....like the HW10?
do they have yield rate problems ?! why not being more aggresive ?!
I know my friend from hdsoir.com will prolly ask them these questions, but if you get the chance ;)
