maximum number of passes for CCE 2.5?

I'm going on a one week vacation in march and I'd like to try backing up a movie while I'm away. Since I'll be gone for a week I'd like to set CCE 2.5 to the highest number of passes possible to see if I notice a difference. thanks

In the CCE 2.5 manual it mentions that anything over 5 passes gives no noticeable increase in quality. Most people use 3 to 5 passes. Personally I use 4 passes BUT I have seen some 3 pass codings look as good as 4 pass. Many times it depends on the source material. Use 5 as your MAXIMUM number of passes.

Just curious, why would they let you use 9 passes then? 4 seems to be the max most people use. 3 and 4 seem be be must popular, while 3 does look pretty good.
