Can Blu Ray Audio Delay Be Determined Without Trial and Error

Back before transcoders reduced DVD backups to the press of a button, I remember demuxing some files that would put the audio delay (if any) into the name of the resulting file.

I have been working on backing up my BR of Hitman, and it needs some audio delay to be in sync. This is only my first disc. Does every BR need delay? Is there a way to derive this information empirically?

Afaik, it's just like with DVDs.. delays can very. On top of that, with Blu-ray you can have audio overlap between two m2ts files. eac3to can handle both issues.. it performs an analysis pass first to determine delay and overlaps, then performs the appropriate corrections during the second pass.

You may want to try neuron2's tools DGAVCIndex, DGVC1IndexNV which will demux the audio and display the delay in the file name.
