View Full Version : Problem with Automkv (or me)

Hello everybody,

Sorry for starting another thread, but I've read and read but I'm doing something wrong. I use AnyDvd Hd to rip the stream to my computer. Load up the m2ts file into Automkv. In my case its Kung Fu Panda. It then loads up either Dgindex or dgavcdec, but I forget. Anyways, it creates a dga file and automatically puts it into the input section. I then change my resize filter to Hybrid Fupp HQ and my width resolution to 816. I then choose constant quality with a quantizer of 18. I have it set to x264 and mkv as a container. I'm not worried about the audio because I have a separate dts file I am going to merge with the outputted video after I demux the video from the audio I don't want. However, I get no mkv file after the conversion. What am I doing wrong? Here is a log:

By your input it doesn't appear to be a m2ts file that you are loading from your log.16:46:13 OS Version: Windows XP
16:46:13 Selected Input file: C:\Documents and Settings\Jesse\Desktop\movie.dga
The script then identifies your input as ac3

Sorry I use Automkv but don't use your method of ripping and no experience with m2ts. from tips txt in automkv though this may help

If you are working with TS (mpeg2) files, check "Use ProjectX".

the log is ok... try with another one resizer .. maybe an inconsistency with hybridfupp

Hey Buzz,

I'm trying without a resizer. Thanks for the advice. I'll let you know if it works.

Well I started it up without a resize filter and let it go. I left the house and came back and received an error that said mediainfo needed to close. Am I doing something wrong? It seems like AutoMKV is the best program for this IMO because it offers a lot of options and basically does everything for you, but I just can't seem to get it to work. Oh, and Flebber, when you input a m2ts file into AutoMKV it creates a dga file. Here is a log:

I opened up the file in Virtualdub and did receive errors/warnings. Here they are:

[!] Couldn't locate decompressor for format 'YV12' (unknown).
VirtualDub requires a Video for Windows (VFW) compatible codec to
decompress video. DirectShow codecs, such as those used by Windows Media
Player, are not suitable. Only 'Direct stream copy' is available for this
video.

Do I need another codec? Thanks for helping me along.

-Jesse

EDIT: I found a solution the the error. I just installed the Helix YV12 VFW driver. I will report back when I have tried to encode.

If you don't have other codec packs installed try installing CCCP . http://www.cccp-project.net/

I am getting the same error. Mediainfo needs to close. I opened up my m2ys file in virtualdubmod and now I receive a cannot detect filetype error. I changed the file type to ts using tsmuxer to see if I would get different results. The only file it will detect is the mkv file of Kung Fu Panda that I made. I really want to get this filesize down because it is taking valuable space. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

please install the required softwares (avisynth/ffdshow/xvid)

also.. try updating mediainfo.exe and mediainfo.dll (in /exe/encoder folder) by grabbing on internet the latest mediainfo build (the command line version)

I thought AutoMkv came with everything needed? Either way I have everything installed, and the only thing I did not have installed separately prior to your post was Xvid. I went and downloaded, and installed it. I also updated mediainfo like you said. I'll let you know what happens. Thanks!

I opened up movie.avs in virtualdubmod and no errors. I then double clicked the x264cmdq_CRF.bat and it quickly opened and shut down like a lot of the command prompt apps so I don't think there is anything wrong. What should I try next? Thanks!

that's wrong!

please open the console (the dos box) and launch the x264cmdq_crf.bat
you will see an error

OR

open the x264cmdq_crf.bat with notepad AND add a line
write in this last line

pause>null

save it, then launch , and look at message

Okay. So I open up command prompt and browsed to it and launched it. I then received an x264 [error]: invalid argument: ne = 2. What does this mean? I really do appreciate all the help. It is cool to see a developer helping people directly.

sorry pal..
but in batch you should see this

C:\Documents and Settings\Jesse\Desktop\Video Tools\Automkv\exe\encoder\x264.exe --pass 1 --crf 18 --stats "C:\Documents and Settings\Jesse\Desktop\temp\.stats" --progress --keyint 250 --bframes 3 --qpmin 10 --qpmax 51 --no-psnr --mixed-refs --trellis 1 --ref 3 --filter -2,-1 --direct auto --vbv-maxrate 25000 --me 2 --no-ssim --level 4.1 --weightb --b-adapt 1 --b-pyramid --partitions p8x8,b8x8,i4x4,i8x8,p4x4 --8x8dct --threads auto --thread-input --aq-mode --sar 1:1 --output "C:\Documents and Settings\Jesse\Desktop\temp\movie.264" "C:\Documents and Settings\Jesse\Desktop\temp\movie.avs"

where is "ne=2" ?

just to be sure.. don't encode from desktop

move to a shorter path... copy your m2ts to c:\rip ,for example and retry the encoding

Excuse me I meant me = 2. I misread it. Sorry about that. I moved my m2ts file so the file path is shorter. I'm trying again. I will let you know what happens. Thanks! Oh and I do see the code in the batch file but after all of the code I get x264 [error]: invalid argument: me =2

Update: It is still not working. I must be doing something wrong. Do you know what x264 [error]: invalid argument: me = 2 means? Thank you.

make sure you download the latest full package (the 0.98) and update to 0.98.1
... you can also update the x264.exe (in \exe\encoder folder) with latest one from http://x264.nl

No --b-adapt? What the... I'm going with buzzqw had said and advice you to download the latest build of x264. Just out of curiosity, may I know what version of x264 you are running? (Command prompt, go to the folder where x264 is located and type x264.exe --version).
