i need to get video files from my comp. to my vcr

It depends on what graphics card you have (you need one with a TV out) and what kind of videos you want to record on your vcr, because for DVDs there's a thing called Macrovision that won't let you easyly record DVDs with a VCR. You basically get an unwatchable picture with brightness shifting all the time. This also depends on your VCR because older recorders "ignore" this protection. But if you look for it you will surely find ways to get around Macrovision.

If this is no problem the rest is easy. Just connect the TV out of your graphics card to your VCR, enable the TV out, set your video to fullscreen then press record on your VCR and play on your PC. Oh, and if you want sound, too, you have to connect the output of your soundcard to the audio input of your VCR. ;)

Btw. please be a bit more specific with your problem, I also could have said to get video files to your VCR burn them on a CD and lay it on top of your VCR which would give you "video files on your VCR". :D
