Hiya,

Im hoping someone will be able to assist with my plans :)

Ive recently upgraded my old HTPC, to blu-ray capable with the addition of a ATI 3850, its braught some new life into my ole P4 3.2ghz machine :)

Ive been viewing DVDs through my HTPC through ffdshow for lanczos resising and limitedsharpen through avisynth.

My goal is to be able to using the hardware accelerated decoding on the 3850 to playback h.264 encodes of my dvd's (movies only) that have allready been resized, and run through limitedsharpen faster and retaining the original AC3 or DTS audio track.

So my question is: Is this possible utilising one of the front-end programs like megui, or super ? or is it going to be some custom CLI scripting and manual-work ?

Ive been playing around with dvd;s for quite a few yrs, but am a total h.264 noob (hence the need for a front end to get me up and running till I learn whats really going on in the background!)

Cheers,
Bitey

Megui can make dxva compliant streams. use DXVA-SD for your dvds.

Then use mediaplayer classic home cinema for playback or find one of those dxva filters (don't ask me where)

Thanks - am trying some test clips now

Looks like it'll do the business!
