How to decode VC1?

There's a small part in the movie "Into The Wild", a song that is not in the soundtrack that I would like to keep, if possible, with the video too. I transferred it to my hard drive using AnyDVD HD and according to TSMuxer it's encoded in VC-1. How do I convert this codec to something I can edit in any editor such as Vegas? The audio is also giving me trouble. I loaded the file in TSMuxer and stripped all the tracks except for the video and the regular AC3 (I stripped the Dolby TrueHD too).

I know that at worst I can get this song in analog form off the RCA outputs of my Blu-Ray player, but I would really like to keep the video clip too.

Otherwise the WMV9 decoders that ship with Windows Media Player should to it too, as WMV9 is an implementation of VC-1.

The guy charges $15 for the program. If I'm going to pay that, I'd rather put a little extra and just buy the BD, which eventually I will because it's an excellent movie.

WMP 11 doesn't accept this file.

You know that once you buy the software for 15$ you can use it for any VC-1, not just for one single movie ???

So what? We all know that WMP 11 isn't a very useful piece of software.

Load up GraphStudio (or GraphEdit), load your VC-1 file, connect it to a suitable splitter and then connect it to the WMV9 decoder filter. Finally save the .grf file and load it via DirectShowSource() in Avisynth...

I don't really have much use for the software, not to pay $15 for it anyway. Plus, next video card I get will be an ATI because my Nvidia has been a huge disappointment.

As for the rest, looks like it would take too much time that I don't have. I'll just wait until the movie gets cheaper and buy it.

The explanation is very clear:

I got it on Netflix a few days ago. I bought the soundtrack CD, but I wanted to keep this beautiful song in the movie that is not in the soundtrack, if possible with the video, if not possible just the audio. I'm not going to waste a lot of time on it though.

A rental doesn't mean that you own the original disc. Copying contents that you don't own is a Rule #6 (http://forum.doom9.org/forum-rules.htm) violation and not allowed to discuss here.
