View Full Version : All titles stop playing EARLY in POWER DVD

I have authored a DVD with Scenarist and everything is working fine in VLC Media Player and WMP11. However, when I play the DVD in PowerDVD all titles stop playing slightly earlier than they should (less than a second). Thus it's skipping some dialogue and important transitions in the extras (I always leave about 2 seconds of black screen in the main movies).

I tried rebuilding the timemap with PGCEdit but it didn't work. Any suggestions??

Hi!

1) Does a burned version play properly on a standalone DVD player?

2) Since the authored package plays properly using two other players, it would seem safe to surmise that your PowerDVD is at fault. Have you submitted your question/problem to the publisher?

Thanks for the reply.

1) I don't have the means to test it on a standalone player right now.

2) But PowerDVD only does this with this particular DVD. Also when I use seek in PDVD the problem gets worse. If the video skips 0.5s without seek, when I use seek it skips the last 1s or even more! I am suspecting an issue with the timecode...but it's doing this with video encoded with two different encoders...can they both be wrong?

1) Take the burned DVD to an electronics or video store.

2) And, according to you, ONLY PowerDVD has this problem with this DVD. So, I would say to you again, since the authored package plays properly using two other players, it would seem safe to surmise that your PowerDVD is at fault. Have you submitted your question/problem to the publisher?

I'll try but I am not really that interested in making the DVD play properly on PowerDVD. My only concern is to have the DVD authored properly.
