Just wanted to start a thread talking about successful BD-RB re-encodings.
As I mentioned, House Bunny, full disc, 40.2 GBs to 7.72 GBs was a complete success. The new BDMV folder on the harddrive behaves and functions like the original BD for movie, menu, & extras. I didn't have any DL media currently to test it on an actual burn, so what I did was to take the movie m2ts (now 4.42 GBs) and used TSMuxer to make a movie only BDMV folder (ended up 4.21 GBs after deselecting all other PGS languages), and then used IMGBurn to burn it to DVD5... And the picture quality on that disc played thru my BluRay player is unbelievable!! Near impossible to tell if it was the original or the BD5 back-up. I'm sure if you were able to play both side by side on two HDTVs, you might see a slight difference, but not playing them one after another...
I plan to pick up some DL media in the next few days (being XMas, couldn't find anywhere closeby to buy some ore) and will put the full disc onto a BD9 and see how it fully functions...
Also hope to re-encode one of my BluRays to Movie-only BD9 and see how great it looks, I'm sure the movie-only setting will function correctly on one of them.
:thanks: to jdobbs
