VobBlanker and interleaved VTS

i get a warning when trying to process a dvd9 with VobBlanker
about an interleaved VTS and interleaved cells inside a VTS.

i want to strip audio and extras before processing this DVD,
is there any way around it?

You have to remove the angles before processing it. Use Jsoto's DelAngle.exe or PgcEdit.
Or, if you want to keep the angles, use DVDShrink to strip the streams, and VobBlanker to blank the extras, but be sure to NOT process the Titles with angles.

i ran DelAngle.exe and it reported it didnt find any angles in any of the VTSs. i guess its an interleaved VTS without angles?

vobblanker gives a warning that if this VTS (the main feature) will be processed it can cause small pauses in playback.
if i'll use dvdshrink to strip the streams, and vobblanker to blank the extras, will there be a risk of playback pauses?

You can remove ILVUs with IfoEdit.

You have probably a movie with several versions (called a multi-story movie.) This technique requires also interleaved cells.

DVDShrink can shrink and remove streams on interleaved material without problem, and will not create pauses. But it cannot blank the other PGCs. It's why I suggest to use both programs for what they can do. (BTW, you can also blank with PgcEdit, but don't use FixVTS on interleaved material neither! It has even more problems than VobBlanker.)

i removed the unwanted audio streams with dvdshrink, and blanked extras with vobblanker.
now when i try to reencode it with dvdrebuilder i get this error:
"DVD Rebuilder experienced an error attempting to open DVD."

any ideas?

Wasn't the suggestion in such a case (since this normally seems to occur in the main movie that won't require removing or blanking things) is to copy all the IFOs, BUPs, and VTS files for the part with the multiple angles (that VobBlanker says to skip) into the destination folder for VobBlanker output, then delete the extras etc. from the remaining material as desired, then process the video with VobBlanker skipping the material that was copied? This won't work if things in the skipped material need to be blanked or removed. Sub titles, audio streams etc. can then be removed using DVD Rebuilder.

I think this suggestion was put forth a while back, I had done this with multi-story movies and it seems to work ok. If this will cause problems please advise. :thanks:

What you suggests is to skip the material containing ILVed cells by copying it manually. That works fine. Usually, I prefer to use the VobBlanker option to "process input folder", but you must be sure to mark the VTS with ILVed cells as "skip". The result is identical to your technique, but faster, as the untouched VTS are never copied.

I have never used DVD Rebuilder to process ILVed material, so I can't advice on that point. I know that you can also remove the unnecessary streams with DVDShrink, but it cannot remove the useless angles (or it removes all angles in re-author mode.)

I think that DVD-Rebuilder can process ILVU properly and delete unwanted audio streams. May be you should focus on deleting one extra in VOBblanker and see if it loads properly in a software player and then DVD-Rebuilder (to be sure that you are not missing any steps in the procedures described in previous posts).

any recomendations of another program that will reencode the movie, other than dvd rebuilder?
maybe i should give another proggy a chance instead of messing (stripping etc) with the dvd.

Why don't you just blank the extras in DVDRB? You can do that in the segment editor after the preparation stage has finished. As well, just untick the unwanted streams in DVDRB (before preparation).
