I was walking through the markets yesterday and decided to buy some blank CD´s. They had Verbatim Spindle 25 CD´s 6.50 ,Verbatim Spindle 25 DVD´s 5.50 . (euros) Are CD manufacturing cost higher ? My mind wanders.

I've wondered myself why blank DVD media is cheaper now. I know I use fewer CDs than I used to. Both my car and work truck have line-in inputs for an iPod or satellite radio, and I have and use both instead of carrying CDs around, and for general back-ups I use DVD media.

i think it's just simple supply and demand.

i wish my car stereo had line in... anything past the 20 min mark will skip like crazy if my wheels aren't perfectly aligned.

For a Canadian it's simple.
There is a blank CD levy (just went up 40%) to twenty-nine cents per disk.
There is no levy on DVD's.
(it's called 'the Private Copying Levy).
