Hi!
I have bought a Samsung LCD TV and I have a few 1080i films in .mkv format. I tried a number of things - demuxing mkv, remuxing with Yamb, MeGUI etc. and nothing could be viewed on my TV. I finally got my hands on mkv2vob (used for PS3) and when I transcode the mkv film with x264 codec (what is DAMN slow), I got an avi file with these properties:
Video: MPEG4 Video (H264) 1920x816 25.00fps [Video]
Audio: Dolby AC3 48000Hz stereo [Audio]
This AVI can by played now without any VIDEO problems, but there is no audio. So the question is, how to get an AAC or MP3 sound into that AVI container, or how to fix that AC3 sound (notice that transcoded AC3 sound is much more silent than original).
Or, if you know about a better solution to transcode an mkv movie:
Video: MPEG4 Video (H264) 1920x816 25.00fps [Video]

When using mkv2vob to make an MPEG2, the film is laggy (I guess my TV is slow for that) and when I use XVID with that high resolution, I get a message "unsupported resolution".
I tried to do some stuff with AVIMux_GUI, but whenever I drag an AVI file (the one I can play on TV without sound) into there, I get an unsupported format message.
