is it possible to add null frame ?

I have a VFR h264 mp4 and want to transcode to xvid avi.
since avi does not support vfr so I'm thinking about

say the VFR mp4 has three different frame rate
23.97
29.97
20.00

then I want to normalize the 23.97 fps
so 23.97 keep unchange
29.97 turned to 23.97 by deleting duplicate frame
20.00 , adding null frame to make it 23.97



is it possible ?

You can't create null frames (it doesn't make sense; AviSynth outputs uncompressed frames), but you use DuplicateFrame to duplicate a frame. (Or if you need to do it a lot, you could use my RemapFrames plug-in (http://www.avisynth.org/stickboy/).)
