libavcodec adds x264 lossless support

x264's new lossless mode is now supported in libavcodec (http://svn.ffmpeg.org/ffmpeg/trunk/libavcodec/h264.c?r1=16141&r2=16171).

CoreAVC is no longer necessary to play such streams :). And once everyone updates their ffdshow/mplayer we can stop getting the weekly post in #x264 about lossless output being corrupt...

the switch to predictive lossless was committed on Sep 27, so that's about 11 weeks...

can a good soul, owner of a recent (CS3 or 4) Adobe Premiere tell us if it can correctly handle x264 High 4:4:4 Predictive profile files ?

As Adobe most of the times uses Mainconcept Technology i would say nope as they havent included it yet :)

Last I recall Mainconcept still doesn't support the old lossless mode...

Yep same as Elecard though it was a long long time ago i tested that got only a nice Gray Video Output @ Playback, i don't think they support it now though as Sagittaire posted here http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?p=1225090#post1225090 it lets suspect that there could be some kind of lossless support at least inside the MC SDK (but which one ??? the old ?, the new ?, or a complete different ?)

I tried opening a predictive lossless file in AFX CS4 (AFX cuz i don't use premiere - so didn't install it),
it then proceeded to eat on one of my CPUs indefinitely until i force killed it.
so i would count that as a no....
