If the protection on the disk does NOT prevent you from making a 1:1 copy in ISO format, then burning that image (if it hasn't been affected by one of the newer copy protections that duplicates cells) will retain any protections. A lot depends on the protections on the disk and what you use to make the ISO backup.

The structure of the DVD will be unaltered but the CSS protection will be removed. Bad packs from advanced protection will be replaced by dummy sectors. It should be able to be burned and played successfully.

Hi!
The following thread should provide you with the details supporting exactly what was stated here by "CWR03":

i understood that, but for some reason i still can't rip 2 episodes in the dvd, i assumed it was the bad sector protection, but anydvd, dvdfab didn't do much, to help me rip the 2 episodes
anyway is it possible that a in a 7 episode disk that only 2 of the episodes have protection?

What is the disk (title and region) you're trying to rip?
Most episodic disks can be ripped easily with DVD Decrypter alone in IFO mode, and will show the individual eps as separate PGCs and labeled by their runtime.
