PgcEdit is this the correct program to use?

I have a problem with authoring DVD's or making ISO's for use with the Beyonwiz PVR http://www.beyonwiz.com.au/DP_P2_overview.asp
The problem is if the DVD or ISO doesn't have a menu, which is what I prefer then the unit becomes unstable - no doubt it will be addressed in future firmware updates but in the meantime what i would like to know is if i do the authoring with a simple menu and then edit the IFO files with either IFOEdit or PgcEdit can i make the menu appear briefly for a few seconds and then go away and play the main video without human intervention? If so how?

Try VobBlanker (http://jsoto.posunplugged.com/vobblanker.htm). Load your unmenued project and from the main menubar, click Adjust Sectors --> In Input Folder. This makes some dummy, unreferenced menu files and may help you out.

Thanks for that... just to clarify what i want to achieve is
pop the dvd into the player or select the first IFO in the network player and up comes the the disc menu but before you can click a button, well depending on your reaction time, the dvd commences playing the movie...

This actually doesn't have any visible menus - it will be totally transparent to you. The menu VOBs are there and referenced though. Try it.

Not sure why your player doesn't like the DVDs without menus. If it's because the DVD files are not ptoperly placed in the ISO, try blutach suggestion. If it's because it wants to display something before playing the movie, you could try the method explained here (http://download.videohelp.com/r0lZ/pgcedit/third_party/r0lz/still_frame_menu/still_frame_menu.html). The idea is to create a still frame menu with hidden buttons that will be displayed when you insert the DVD. You can also ask to close the menu and play the movie automatically after a delay (from 1 to 254 seconds).

Hi!

Try burning your DVD "package" or .ISO image file - and see if it plays properly on a standalone DVD player. If not, perhaps your problem is something other/more than the lack of a menu...
