hi there,

first time poster here. pretty much a newbie....

but what i was wondering is i am trying to backup a copy of my x-files: i want to believe dvd.

i usually use AnyDvd (to rip) and CloneDvd to burn and i started having problems with some movies and so i got the april release free version of dvdfab hd decrypter and then use dvdshrink and then either clonedvd or dvd decrypter to burn but this dvd has me stumped...

i have tried clonedvd and anydvd and it reads the video then when it tries to scan the audio is stops at 40% and won't go any farther.

so i went to dvdfab hd decrypter and it tries to open the dvd source and it comes up with an error message that says
"error while reading! Choose what to do? Retry. Abort. Ignore. Ignore All.

how can i backup this dvd and why is this happening??? it is a new copyright protection??

it is a 20th century fox dvd.

thanks and i hope someone can help

Hi!

The Region 1 version of that standard DVD has no newer or special copy protection.

1) Perhaps your DVD is dirty or physically damaged. Try cleaning it.

2) Perhaps the drive you are using is dirty. Try cleaning it with a DVD/CD cleaning disc. Maxell makes one that sells for about $10 US...

I am going to try another disk soon but i don't think that is the problem.

is anyone else ever run into this problem with this disk or another one and none of the programs worked for it??

thanks for anyone that can help
