Hi!

Your first question is not answerable...

Your second question is a duplicate of the one you posted in the "General" sub-forum...

Your question can not be answered. Filsize = Bitrate * Runtime. 1 equation with 2 unknown elements can't be solved. What bitrate will give good quality also depends on the resolution you encode to, the codec you use and the complexity of the source.

IMHO?,
Maybe avg runtime for movies is somewhere around 80-120min? So 700MB/100min=7MB/min=955.73kbps video+audio [7 x 1024 x 8 / 60]. Quality of output will depend alot on chosen resolution.
AC3 [spectacular audio] seems to tend to be 224kbps for 2 channel and 448kbps for 5.1 [spectacular surround sound audio]? So 224kbps x 60sec per min / 1024kilo per mega / 8bits per Byte x 90min = 147.66MB [almost 2x larger than 128kbps MP3 [avg audio]]
Maybe good/above avg resolutions are?:
4:3 1.33 512x384
14:9 1.55 544x352
16:9 1.77 624x352 or 640x352[or x368]
1.85 704x384
2.35 720x304
Maybe good avg video bitrates are 850-1050kbps for XviD mpeg-4 ASP
Maybe good avg audio bitrates are 112-160kbps for ABR MP3
A movie like Transformers [144min] with complex video scenes can use alot of bitrate [1200[mp3]-1600MB[original DTS] range]

Thoughts/corrections/advice/additions anyone?
