View Full Version : Vista 64bit xvid & x264 mkv playback

Can someone help me out and tell me what I need to install to get xvid & x264 mkv playback in windows Vista 64bit. I would like to play these files in the default windows media player or media player classic.

I tried installing xvid 1.1.3 that's linked on the guide page but when I try to configure the settings I get an "error loading xvidvfw.dll and xvid.ax" message.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

All I installed on my laptop was ffdshow and AC3 Filter, and WMP plays everything I can throw at it.

SORRY IGNORE ME... I SHOULD HAVE READ THE WHOLE POST!!!

This (http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=173941&package_id=199416) should be what you need.

You could also use VLC or mplayer....

The process to get these files to play is no different than Windows XP 32bit
