View Full Version : Redistribution and changing bitrates

Hi,

This may have (and probably has) been answered sometime in the past, but I simply can't find any threads describing the issue:

I normally

1) prepare source in DVD-RB (3-click mode)
2) change bitrates and redistribute in RB-Opt 0.38 (if and only if my job contains more than one - main - title. Otherwise I use DVD-RB all the way)
3) save the RB-Opt redistributed settings
4) return to DVD-RB and change to 1-click mode
5) save project as batch in DVD-RB
6) open batch project in DVD-RB and start encoding

However, I would like to do all these steps in DVD-RB, meaning opting out the RB-Opt steps. Changing bitrates in a non-redistribution job is easy, but I simply can't figure out the exact steps when including redistribution.

Which routine (matching the above process) would be the way to go?

Thanks, and sorry if this has indeed already been described!

If I remember correctly, setting your own bitrates will be over-written by the re-distribution settings. As far as I know there is no way to set your own bitrate AND use the re-distribution feature.

Thanks for your input, linx05.

If I choose not to use redistribution on all titlesets, it should be possible. And this is what I need to achieve (which I should have stated in my previous post): I always use redistribution on the main title, but do a simple, non-redistributed 2(3) pass on all extras.

You can always run re-distribution with RB-OPT first, Save, and then make individual and final adjustments with the DVD-RB Editor and Save.

Thanks for your suggestion, Sharc!

The proposed method won't help me achieve my goal, though, since it still redistributes using RB-Opt. I would like to do all steps in DVD-RB.
