View Full Version : DVD shrink won't recognize Imageburn or Nero

On Dvd Shrink, the "back up" menu won't show a DVD drive.
The "select back up target" only shows me "Hard Disk Folder" and "Create ISO image". I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling everything. I have went into preferences and checked the "enable burning with Nero" and it still doesn't work.
As a matter a fact, shrink won't even recognize DVDdecrypter/Imageburn.
I have all of these working on my other computers but for some reason, this computer (which is a Pentium 4, Win XP home) just won't burn with Shrink. Any input on this?

DVD Shrink will not burn with ImgBurn unless you have the modified version.

As for Nero, do you have it installed? If you do, what version?

Hi!I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling everything. I have went into preferences and checked the "enable burning with Nero" and it still doesn't work. You MUST install NERO BEFORE you install DVD shrink...

Imgburn works now. I'm using Nero 8.2.8. I did install Nero first.

It would seem that the "automatically burn with NERO" function of the much older DVD Shrink (last updated in 2004) doesn't work with the much newer version of NERO that you are using...

Nero 8 does not work well with DVD Shrink. It's known to mix up the chapter order. Use them separately.

I think for now, I'll just burn with Imgburn. I know it takes a little longer than Nero but it does work. Thanks for the help!

ImgBurn takes longer than Nero?

Yes it does take longer but I'm trying to avoid paying for Nero so I guess I'm stuck with 8.2.8. I was able to "procure" the current version that I have for an "extreme discount" but no earlier version seem to work because my serial is expired. I wouldn't mind going back to an old version but I just can't get my hands on it.

Sorry, what are you trying to tell us?
A non working Nero slows you down to the crawl :p
Just one("click") and you are ready to go with Imgburn, assuming a disc is inserted in your DVD burner and Imgburn's setup is ready to go for single layer or double layer discs( hint:layerbreak)

Taurus, what I'm trying to say is that I have a working Imgburn and Shrink but unfortunately Nero isn't working with Shrink. I use DVDFab to put the DVD image on my harddrive and then open it and back it up with Shrink.

Just my 2 cents.
Should have mentioned this before. I never auto burn with any program. I like to make sure that everything looks and runs to my satisfaction before burning.
