Hi All,
Some time back I noticed a filter that was written to undo the effects of certain denoisers that caused ringing or other
artifacts
I have tried searching and found nothing
Does anyone remember the name of this filter and where I might find it?
TIA

I don't know of any denoisers that create ringing.. Most denoisers will -remove- ringing along with other artifacts.

I wrote a function (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=134502) to remove ringing artifacts, but I never referenced it for use to undo denoisng artifacts, so I don't think its what you are after.

Hi all
Thanks for the replies - I need to reword my original post:
Please ignore the "deringing" . . .
I'm looking for a filter that attempts to undo either "ghosting" or too much "deblocking" or too much "smearing"
Thanks again!
TIA

How about a motion compensated sharpener?

Too much deblocking or smearing? Sharpening. Ghosting? masking might help with that.

Thanks Merlin7777 and Sagekilla
Looks like I need to look into "motion compensated sharpener" and "Masking"
BTW - any links you know of?
TIA

Take a look at Repair too then, while you're at it. It's found in the RemoveGrain package.
