HD-DVD to Blu-Ray guide needed or at least some help... Please :-)

I have loads of HD-DVD and i want to rip and author to Blu-Ray disc.

I have EvoDemux and TsRemuxer. And i'm a newbie ;-)

I can get EvoDemux to strip down to the streams i need and TsRemuxer appears to make a Blu-Ray disc. However on a Blu-Ray player (Samsung BD-P1000) it plays the picture fine but no sound!! And on the PS3 the picture judders and again no sound...

The HD-DVDs were "Grand Prix" and "Bruce Almighty"...

A how to, step by step guide would be awesome, i have nearly 100 to author.

Would it not be easier to just play the disks in a HD-DVD player? Converting sounds like a waste of time and money to me ...

That is not a maybe, that will happen for sure ...

I did some testing converting a HD-DVD to BD some time ago, and this is what I found out:
- Removing pulldown with tsmuxer does not work correctly for HD-DVD. This will result in horrible judder when playback on the PS3. Fortunately, removing pulldown using eac3to or tsremux works perfectly fine.
- DD+ is used on most HD-DVD, however there only exists 1 BD using DD+: a demo disk made by Dolby. I tested this disk on the PS3 and it turns out that the PS3 does NOT decode DD+ (although some player capability charts state it does). As with TrueHD on BD, DD+ on BD has a DD core. The PS3 only plays this core. On HD-DVD neither DD+ nor TrueHD has a DD core. This means that if you want to convert a HD-DVD to BD you always have to generate a DD core to go along with any Dolby track. For TrueHD you can use eac3to, but it does not support DD+. Ofcourse when the disk has a DTS track, you are in luck and you can just use that track without alteration.

To make a long story short, I successfully converted one of the Jack Ryan movies to BD.

For example i have Shooter on HD DVD.
The picture is AVC.
On Blu ray its only MPG2 wich isn´t that good in quality.
Thats one reason i would like to convert this movie into BD format.
Some other movies in germany has on HD DVD True HD sound on BD only DTS.
Another reason.
I´ve paid a lot of money for the HDs €30 each disc.
And want to save it for the future.

The problem with guides is that they can get outdated very quickly because the software evolves all the time.

I think the quickest way to properly convert almost any HD DVD to Blu-Ray is to do this:

(1) Use eac3to to extract the video and audio tracks from the HD DVD. Eventually some audio tracks need to be transcoded to make them Blu-Ray compatible. All this can be done by eac3to.
(2) Use tsMuxeR to mux the video and audio streams created by eac3to to Blu-Ray format.

The problem is all the dirty little details. E.g. which audio tracks does the HD DVD have? Some HD DVD audio formats are Blu-Ray compatible, some are not. So transcoding may be necessary.
