How to import mp4 files and create BD Compliant Folders

I want to import some non protected mp4 files (audio/video muxed) and create a BD compliant folder structure to playback on a softplayer and later (when prices are right) burn onto a BD blank. All the encoders I have don't seem to support this (Corel Movie Factory etc). Which currently available products or freeware tools support this? I can't seem to find any on this thread - just HDV and the like.

Ripbot (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=127611&highlight=ripbot) is the tool you are looking for (select create blu-ray disc as output, you can then burn the strcture to a BDR or DVD which will be playable in a blu.ray player as a mini BD disc (make sure you select UDF 2.5 and not ISO when you burn the DVD)).

Or if your mp4 files are already blu-ray compliant (480i/p,720i/p or 1080i/p in mp2, vc1 or avc level 4 video and ac3/dts audio) you can remux then directly into a blu-ray (or m2ts) folder without re-encoding with tsmuxer.

I tried tsmuxed already and it cannot open them so I guess they are non compliant.

I have installed Ripbot and all I get is a splash screen telling me ffdshow is not installed, despite the fact I have downloaded it and installed it! There does not appear to be anyway of getting past this screen?

This probably means that the ffdshow version you are using is too old.

Ajax_Undone has posted an installer that installs everything needed : http://www.mediafire.com/?3yntm2ymynm. He is always keeping it updated with the latest ripbot versions, so check the thread regularly.

I myself prefer to use the vistacodecs package (http://shark007.net/). It is always updated with the latest codecs, also has x64 support, and never screws things up like some other codec packs.

Hi,
Installed Vista Codes (+ 64 bit pack) and ripbot now works. I was hoping to have an option to output to DV type format that my Authoring software accepts - it won't accept MP4, MKV or m2ts. Only HDV, AVCHD etc. Do I need to look at another tool or possibly another authring solution? (I want to crate menus and multiple titles - otherwise the single title BDMV function on ripbot would be fine).

Also - why is my MP4 not being converted with an audio stream? The source MP4 is definitely a muxed audio-video stream

Try YAMB to demux the MP4 streams and then TsMuxer to create the Blu-Ray structure. Works for me like a charm.

I assume YAMB gives you the .m2ts and associated audio stream file right? My authoring software cant import these meaning I cant create a multiple titleset output with menu which is what I want. Are there any that do (I am not talking of the high end professional products here - not going to pay that kind of money!)

YAMB will give you the raw audio and video streams. TsMuxer can then mux these streams into a .ts or a .m2ts or into a Blu-Ray structure folder.
