4 times audio FFD decoder icons when using mkv with 4 tracks

I'm having a strange problem. When I have a mkv file with for instance 4 audio tracks it show 4 FFDShow Audio Decoder icons in the right corner, and it gets it to crash after a few seconds of playback. How do I get it to show only 1 audio decoder icon and also the Haali Icon, so I can choose soundtrack?

You can't, but you can disable the audio icon appearing in the config screen. Would be worth a feature request in the ffdshow-tryout thread IMO. ;)

Thanks for the answer, but how do I then select between the different audio tracks when there's no place to choose it?

Yes you can. What software and what versions are you using? Lord of the Rings with five audio tracks only shows one icon each from ffdshow video, ffdshow audio and Haali's splitter. Using ffdshow-tryouts beta 5 (rev 2033) and Haali's splitter from (I think) 2008-03-29 does just that with MPC, WMP and Winamp. Oh, what kind of file do you have the problem with?

Install Haali Media Splitter (if you haven't already). Go to its options and enable its tray icon.

FFD Version 2210 oct 12 2008.
Have it set, so FFDShow takes care of my mkv. I have tried in Zoomplayer, Media Portal and windows media player, but only FFDshow video + audio shows up and in Zoomplayer there is 4 audio icons and I can choose different languages, but no haali. Any ideas?

Well update. I can still not see any haali splitter icon, only in WMP but not when using Zoomplayer or MediaPortal.
However in MediaPortal I found out I can change language from directvobsub, but not from the media portal shortcut "a" and still no Haali Icon.

ffdshow cannot "take care of" an mkv file because it is not a splitter. Did you try what clsid said?
Install Haali Media Splitter (if you haven't already). Go to its options and enable its tray icon.

Other than that, see if those players use any internal filters or stream switchers. If they do, disable them, then they might use Haali.
