Hi Folks,
just as an idea:
anyone interested in a little copetition? Well, to be more specific:
Over the past view years it was really hard to find some serious facts about video encoding and related stuff (so let me say thank you to Doom9 and the numerous people who are working on this site!).
But still a lot of myths, half truths, lies or missunderstandings are still wandering around throughout the entire net making it hard for the newcommer to find an entrypoint into that buisiness.
Thats the point leading me to suggest a litte competition(s). How about letting:
- compete different coding types against each other to transparently show their strengths and weaknesses
- compete different programm packages against each other to do the same
...well the list is endless, but the result hopefully will be the most completed list ever seen comparing simmilar types against others. Thus helping peaople to find the needed tool much quicker (without endless testings) or come to a faster dessicion on what codec to choose for their needs fro example.
Any suggestions? All welcome!!
cheers and bye
