I posted this question in the mkv2vob thread but i think that was the wrong thread to post it in, so here is my question :

I have a lot of HD mkv files that i converted with mkv2vob to .mpg files for use on the ps3. Now i need to split these .mpg files. Mkv2vob has a split option, however i do not have the original .mkv files anymore.

I tried hjsplit, however that gives brokes files as i already guessed. virtualdub gives an "unknown or unsupported file type". Also tried tsmuxer to try and demux the streams, but it crashed. With another option in tsmuxer i get : "Reading buffer overflow. Possible container streams are not syncronized. Please, verify stream fps." however tsmuxer correctly identified the 23,96 fps stream. I am stuck...

Would be great if there was a way to split these files, anyone ?

Thx !

i do not have the original .mkv files anymore What did you use to make the MKV files, or where did you get them?

Sorry about the crosspost.

All the mkv files that i converted where usenet based. The .mpg files run fine on the ps3, and also under windows with ffdshow filter and haali. I just need to split some of them at the 4gb point to be able to put them on a usb stick and run them on another ps3 which is not connect (fast enough) to the in-house network.
