I've tried many things (aWarpSharp, YAHR, etc) to get rid of these greenish and purple halos, but nothing seems to help at all.

Any suggestions?

better lenses :)
didee's mergechroma, awarpsharp method looks like the way forward. and maybe some kind of line-darkening script.
or you could rejoice in the fact that it doesn't look like the mass-produced, super-flat digital anime that is pumped out today. it's real cels, real painted backgrounds and shot on film. IMHO it's part of the show's character and possibly shouldn't be removed unless it hurts compression too much.

I think he's pointing out the chroma bleed/abberations and not the style. MergeChroma(aWarpSharp()) shouldn't affect the style but reduce the visibility of any artifacts introduced from the transfer process, like possible aberrations.

i know. my point was those aberrations (introduced during photography, not telecine) could be considered part of the aesthetic, or work against it. it depends how much this sort of thing might distract from the experience or possibly enhance it.
still, i'm glad we have filters that can remove these artefacts in the event that they are undesirable. my own preference would just be to leave them be, YMMV

Indeed. If Didee didn't post a blown up image of the problem areas, I would've never noticed the problem the aberrations to begin with.

It looks a little red, and Histogram("color2") confirms this
ColorYUV(autowhite=true)
could be the fix, but it might not be stable with video (works on a single frame, but looks bad on a sequence)

I've already seen that thread... but the green halos just don't go away no matter what I try.
Guess I'll have to live with them.
