I extract a chapter from a vob by using dvd decrypter, it's 206 megs, I load to staxrip, using a predefined profile, a 2 pass HQ, since it's predefined, so after I selected the profile, I ran the encoding process, the result x264 mkv is bigger than vob, am I still needed to configure anything after loading a predefined profile ?
Thanks

It will either be the bitrate or the resolution causing larger file size.
Larger bitrate = larger file
Higher resolution = larger file
You need to lower the bitrate, try with a CRF preset with a value of 18-20

the 2pass Anime HQ is already at 18 CRF value, the result is twice the vob, unless I specified the bitrate, is it normal ?

Try a higher CRF, you can't specify a bitrate when using CRF, CRF controls the bitrate, the higher the CRF value the lower the bitrate will be.

What is the ideal CRF for anime movies ?
Can I turn off CRF, and use fixed bit rate for batch encoding in staxrip ?

2 pass does not use CRF.

@Running Skittle, where to put bitrate in 2 pass profile then ?
And what is the purpose of crf value in "compressiblity check" tab at 2 pass encoding profiles ?
