Hi Guys/Girls.

Another Burning question.
I cannot find a setting for it in Scenarist HDMV, or do not know
if it is possible.

How do you flag a piece of standard def, 4x3 letterboxed video (m2v),
so it will not stretch, but stay in its aspect ratio when viewing it on a hi def tv?

I always used IFOedit to do this in standard dvds.
IS there something similar usable for BD's? :)
A piece of the script u need to change?
Or is it plainly not possible..??

Hi,

normaly it should work in Scenarist to display your file in the right aspact.
Is your file marked as 4:3 in the proberty window?

@meisterlee

Yes, they are in 4:3. They are also letterboxed.
I am pretty sure this will display correct on a normal tv,
yet on every hd tv I try this, it stretches to widescreen on the tv.

There is probably a setting u can turn on or off in the tv itself,
but I was just wondering if there is some sort of intelligent flagging, like you had this with standard def DVDs.
(that your tv immediatly displays the correct aspect)

Hi,

once again: is your file marked as 4:3 in the property window of scenarist?
If yes: your flagging is right. check the setting of tv/player. No workaround (ok, you can encode it to pillarbox-hd)
If no: change flagging
