Hi!
I read some pages explaining Xvid/Mpeg4-ASP, and have a few questions...
- This page (http://www.tongfamily.com/home_movies/xvid_settings_c.php) says I shouldn't use GMC and VHQ together - is that true? Why shouldn't I? As I see it both of them are "good" and independent of each other
- Is it true that VHQ > 1 doesn't make much sense (http://club.cdfreaks.com/f116/gmc-qpel-vhq-xvid-encoding-211031/#post1708020)? What about "Use VHQ for bframes too"?
- About Multipass-Encodes is there a reason why in DivX you can have 6 and Xvid offers only 2? What's being done in, say, passes 2 and 3 of a 4-pass encode?
- Why shouldn't I use QPel/GMC, why is it off by default? (just becasue of the lack of support on standalone players?)
- Where do I find that window with the "debug"/experimental settings like trellis?
- About adaptive quantitization, if the movie itself is rather dark in general, then I shouldn't activate it right? (becuase then not only certain macroblocks, but the whole image would have a lower quality)
