Hello, I recently purchased DVD Rebuilder Pro and have a question regarding the CCE-settings.

CCE allows the user to change a LOT of settings, like
GOP sequence, SEQ header very nn GOP(s) and user can tag matters like:
Add sequence end code
DVD Video complian
DVD Video multiangle
Close all GOPs
Restrict auto 1 frame insertion
Equalize ach GOP's bit length
and so on, and so on ...

DVD Rebuilder allows to increase
VBR Bias (default 25)
Qaul Prec (default 16)
VBR Passes (default 2)

Frankly, I donot care all the detailed CCE-settings.
I need the best of best output and donot care if my PC will be running 4 or 6 hours or longer needcase.

Have set the VBR Passes to 6 and the results are quite good.
However, NO chages to VBR Bias/Qual Prec.

At 4 passes I definitely cud see differences, between the original DVD and the DVDRB-output (26"monitor,distance 40-50cm).

At 6 passes, I have to admit, I hardly see them...

Question now is:
should I also increase the VBR Bias ? (to what level)
same for Qual Prec ..?

TIA !

For most discs the defaults are optimal. Changes are meant to be used when you are adjusting for a particularly odd disc.

My experience has been that any number of passes above 3 is pretty much impossible to see. I normally use 2 except for particularly difficult discs (read that as LONG).

Absoutely NO offence meant..!
But, frankly, I first did try it out CCE with 2 passes, I felt it was really a bad quality comparing to the original DVD.
Then I went on to 4 passes. It improved, but still I cud see differences (noise).
I then set it to 6 passes, this was pretty close to the original, the 4 hrs are acceptable.
Also gave HCEnq a try, but I think CCE is better.

But the main question still remains:
is there anything I shd change in the VBR Bias and Qual Prec to improve the quality ?
Shd I increase the numbers?

- Overall Bitrate :
- Space for Video :
- HIGH/LOW/TYPICAL Bitrates:
post this stuff from conversion log. what type of video i meant like animation, cgi, film. In my opinion if your source is interlaced use HC, If its progressive use CCE. I agree with you on the 6pass thing. But most people say 3-4.

I am no expert. Sorry.
The original is DVD with abt 6.8 GB to be reduced to DVD5 with maximum quality using CCE 2.67
That's all I can say. Have set it to 6 and needcase to 9.
But I just wonder whether I need to set anything on the VBR Bias and Qual Prec.
