View Full Version : Easy DVD to MP4/MKV with Dual Audio, 'soft' Subtitles, and 5.1 Audio?

Has Anyone found a GUI which makes it easy to archive a Vob file as either a MKV or MP4 file while retaining:

* Minmum of Two Audio Streams
* Minimum of One 'soft' Subtitle (preferrably two selectable)
* 5.1 Audio

Would also be nice (but not necessary) if the GUI made it easy to resize / trim the video to convert from 2.35 to 1:85 etc.

I almost have MeGUI working - just need to sort out subtitles - but it is not the friendliest interface. On the other hand Ripbot264 has a great interface but doesn't seem to support more than one audio stream or subtitles.

Any Suggestions?

My suggestion is to do it manually. DGIndex, x264, BeLight, VSFilter, MKVMerge, and AviSynth. That is what i use, and with that i get far better results than with any gui i have seen. For more detailed info, send me a PM.

meGUI is my first choice. To get soft subtitles, edit the muxing options before you press start (highlight the muxing step and press "load")
