I've got some HD movies that i have to re-encode to make them AVCHD compatible.
I have some original Blu-Rays, only one in VC-1, with a much lower bitrate but with no quality loss.
So my question is, should i encode those files in AVC or in VC-1?

What is the format of the HD movies and how did you make them?

The format is AVC, and i downloaded them, I already successfully encoded one of them and i was satisfied.
I just wanted to know which of the two codecs (with the same bitrate) is better.

Sorry, but per forum rule 6 and the announcement in the Newbies forum, we cannot help you with downloaded movies.
