Strange behaviour of blue-ray ripped ISO

I wanted to paly a blue-ray on a computer without a blue-ray drive so I ripped using the iso function of anydvdhd and then using the file version and then building an ISO file using nero.
When I load the image with daemon-tools if I use that build by anydvd Powerdvd 7.3 says it needs and upgrade, if I use that build with nero it plays it smooth.

What could cause it?

DaemonTools causes this itself; use Virtual Clone Drive instead of that. (Don't forget to uninstall DaemonTools and its drivers before.)
EDIT: btw, use ImageBurn with UDF 2.5 selected in place of Nero.

You yourself stated that the cause of the problem is DaemonTools (as others have noted) and not NERO...

the only reason i suggest ImgBrn, it is more handy; nothing else. :)
I didn't state the nero is the source of the problem as you noticed.

Since "Devilman1" is already using NERO (without problem), IMGBurn (while it can ALSO do the job) cannot be "more handy"

I just noticed that nero doesn't build in that case image with UDF 2.5 file system could it be the cause of the need for upgrade question of Powerdvd?

Yes. The image must be UDF 2.5 in order to work correctly. Nero is capable of making such an image. Check the options when you create a new image. I'm confused, however, by your original statement that:

Using the AnyDVD HD rip to image function will create you a compliant ISO which can be mounted. I'm confused as to why you'd want to take extra steps by ripping to the hard drive as a folder and then create an image with Nero. There seems to be no benefit to this that I can think of unless you're editing the contents of the folder first.

I did this just to see if there was any difference and then I noticed that strange behaviour.
In nero I let it choose the right version of file system and with autmatic settings it doesn't choose UDF 2.5
What i don't understand is why PowerDVd asked for an upgrade if I mount the image created by AnyDVD and it plays the movie without any problem.
The ISO made by Anydvd has a SLY! folder in them that is not present when you choose to rip just the files.

The AnyDVD created ISO is UDF 2.5. That's all that's necessary. Well, no, that's not entirely true. The Sly! folder makes no difference. However, a certificate folder is required and PowerDVD 8 will refuse to play it without that. (Yes, it can be empty. Don't ask) But UDF 2.5 and the certificate folder MUST be there or it will not play.
