i'm getting error trying to playback dvd's with ffdshow. did i set something wrong?

config:
xp sp3
core 2 duo
latest mpc-hc (same results with windows media player 11)
latest ffdshow (i've tried beta5 and got same results)

ffdshow is set to libavcodec (same results when "dvd decoding" box is checked or unchecked)
when i set ffdshow to libmpeg2 the video decodes properly but it's not smooth: it pauses and then fast forwards a few seconds then pauses again, etc.

when i use built in mpc-hc filter to decode everything works fine.

when i playback an mpeg2 file captured from tv tuner, ffdshow can decode it fine. only dvd's give problem

ffdshow still can't decode DVDs without speed issues, commercial or otherwise. I suggest seeking the standalone Cyberlink PD 8 decoder, or Nvidia Purevideo.. MPC has its own builtin MPEG2 decoder and it supports DVD fine though.

I don't know what you're doing wrong, but decoding DVDs has been working fine for me for ages now using ffdshow's libmpeg2 in MPC-HC, with no hint of speed issues.

Interesting. I've been using libavcodec all this time!
