Is it necessary to set/change the book type setting for the dvd media burning to with IMGBurn when burning a Blu-Ray AVCHD disc ? I know to change to UDF 2.5, or let IMGBurn automatically change it for you when it sees the BDMV and the CERTIFICATE folders. But is UDF 2.5 all that is needed to be changed for the disc to be compatible for set top Blu-Ray players ?

I don't have a BluRay player, so I can only offer general guidelines. If I'm wrong, someone will reply. I do have an HD-DVD player (yes, I backed the loser) and I sometimes make the equivalent of AVCHD discs for my HD-DVD player. It's not necessary to set book type on them, just burn them as UDF 2.5. Setting book type is rarely necessary on modern players as that was really a trick to fool older, poorly designed players into playing discs that they should have played in the first place. I don't worry about setting book type as all my friends and family have modern DVD players and it's never been necessary for me to set it so they can play my discs. However, I would think that if you can set it (some drives won't let you set this) that it's not wrong to do so and it won't break anything. I'm just not convinced it's necessary and BluRay players are all new enough that they shouldn't need it.
