I bought this Blu-Ray disk today and before I do anything with it I wanted to mke my backup (Like I hve done with my otehr 600+ DVD's but just bought a PS3 so I want to tke dvntage of the Blu-Ray.)

I bought a new notebook and it hs Blu-Ray drive in it too.

So I tried to use a few programs (aacskeys, etc.) but none would give me a key so I could pull the files to my hard drive so I could convert them to a regulr Dual layer DVD. So I went back to the store and bought Ironman to have second disk to try. I go the files on my hard drive now I just need to learn the conversion process.

My question is: Has anyone else had problems with the New Indian Blu-Ray disk??

AnyDVD should do it just fine.
No need to mess around with keys then, just copy.

You didn't even ask if he has a working windows installation. Anydvd doesn't work on any other operating system. :rolleyes:

I backed up my disc of Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull just fine. All I used is DumpHD. Didn't even need AnyDVD HD.

Yes I have Windows, notebook is Vista Ultimate and I have 10-11 other computers with a mix of XP and Vista.

I tried AnyDVD but it says it needs to connect to SLysoft site and download more functionality but it complains about the install everytime.

I read everyone's post on Blu-ray backup I could find. I am not interested in a Disk image on a hard drive I have to mount. I want to be able to recompress the main movie to a dual layer DVD.

Is there a way to do that??

I use mencoder with the following command:

mencoder.exe in.mkv -vf harddup -ovc x264 -x264encopts crf=18:frameref=3:bframes=3:b_pyramid:direct_pred=auto:weight_b:partitions=all:8x8dct:me=umh:mixed_refs:brdo:bime:trellis=1:nopsnr:nossim:subq=6:level_idc=41:threads=4 -nosound -of rawvideo -o out.264

After this i mux the original/converted to ac3 audio stream into either a MKV or a M2TS, usually the latter as the PS3 is happy with M2TS files.
Depending on the content/aspect of the movie I can generally get them small enough to fit on a DVD DL....
