I was showing a friend of mine how to use megui, avisynth and dgindex. Having problems with megui I tried to do things directly in DGIndex version 1.5.2. On his Laptop he uses Vista Ultimate with ffdshow.

When I tried two DVDs in dgindex, I got massive artifacting on the preview frames and was unable to play in dgindex. These were old DVDs he had so tried a new DVD to rule out media problems.

I dont know of the cause for this? Inspecting the dvds they did not appear scratched or damanaged and played back fine in a dvd player.

On the new DVD I tried, the problem was while trying to save the stream dgindex complained about not being able to do so due to errors. Again when I tried to preview the frames many of them had massive artifacting.

Any thoughts please?

How did you rip the VOBs?

Post a link to an unprocessed VOB sample that I can use to reproduce your issue.

Hi :) Thanks so much for your software.

This may very well be user error and I didnt want to formally report a bug before I sorted myself out :) I switched to Linux sometime ago and only use Windows to help friends with their problems.

I did not rip down the vobs. I did it raw from the encrypted DVD assuming dgindex would handle de css. Im happy to change my process to correct any user errors.

DGIndex does not do any decrypting. You have to either rip the VOBs with DVDDecrypter (or equivalent), or mount the DVD with AnyDVD (or equivalent).

Understand, thanks for clarifying :)
