Hi,

Hope it's OK to ask this here; if not, mods, please feel free to remove.

I'm looking for a software engineer with a background in AVIsynth filter development for paid work. Briefly, the project involves colour transformations based on 3D lookup tables; further details on application.

Please send me a private message if you are interested AND ONLY IF you have:

- Written AVIsynth filters from scratch before
- A portfolio of several completed software projects in the area of image processing which demonstrate the ability to efficiently implement common image processing algorithms, from scratch.
- A couple of references we can contact

Just to preempt the inevitable, applications from CS students will be considered in which case your references may be academic staff, but you will still need to have had some sort of track record of finished, working software in this field.

I was just going to get three quotes and go with the one I liked best (which is not necessarily the lowest!); it's how I've occasionally done it in the past.

I'd like to get a quote to complete the job, needless to say based on an agreed spec. I'm not enough of a software engineer myself to try and second-guess how many hours people feel is necessary for something like this.

Am I asking anything particularly outlandish? :)

Given what you just said, I think you ought to give a description of the specific task so that people can submit quotes.

My intention is that people should contact me to express an interest and I would then send them the spec.

I hesitate to blast this forum with the whole thing, but to expand slightly, the goal is a 3D colour lookup table filter. It involves taking a .cube lookup table, which is an ASCII text file containing numeric values representing an n by n by n cube, representing an RGB colour translation, and applying that translation to the image. Specific challenges include implementing an algorithm that will interpolate cube values to the required precision, possibly with options to do this either quickly or accurately. It's not particularly complicated but it is somewhat performance intensive.

I'm not a software engineer so if I'm making no sense please let me know.
