View Full Version : Hide CCE during encoding?

Is there a way of hiding the CCE dialogs during encoding? It really makes me mad since the CCE dialogs gets keyboardfocus when it starts to encode a new segment, and this is horrible during encoding of episode DVD's for example (lots and lots of segments). Try typing something in another application when CCE processes all of those, good luck! :)

Go to 'Settings' -> 'Setup' and check the 'Run Encoder(s) Minimised' box in the 'Special Settings' section at the right.

Yes, but that does not hide all of CCE. It only min's the main Window, the encoding stats windows still stays open

"run apps minimized" is already checked, I don't have a "special-settings" (using DVD-RB Pro 1.28.2).

You can't completely minimize CCE. The encoding stats windows will always be up.

You can get it to run in the background though without stealing focus.

On my PC if I open up a number of windows and select the DVD Rebuilder one before selecting the one I'm working on the stats screen never steals focus.

Presumably this is the same for others.

Edit: @oRBIT - Don't worry you're already in the right place. Special Settings is just the heading above the option you've described.

Try the method above and see if that works.

Seems like to me some versions of CCE would run minimized where others would not. Maybe someone here could remember better than I can.

This bugs me too. I'll find a way to hide the windows and add it to the next release.

Talking about the next relase(s): Any chance for x264 in the mobile section instead of using ffmpeg for mpeg4 encodes?

jdobbs, will this include the other encoders? HCenc does this and it can be a pain when I am writing.

Brilliant news, this annoys me so much that I've been forced to run all my backups over night.

Thanks jdobbs.

I'm forced to agree to, this is a nightmare for day time encoding, also causes media player classic to loose focus as well, so even watching a film is out of the question.

I find it weird that CCE can be minimized but the status dialog pops up anyway. Definitely annoying.

This is probably wishful thinking but is there any way of having no status dialogs at all from CCE or from HC?

"Studies show that 92% of all statistics are made up on-the-fly." - Actually it's only 83%.

the only version of CCE ive used that runs completly minimised is 2.67, every version after wont.

On the "Run minimized" option, are you using a hook to minimize (hide) the outer window?

Using a WH_SHELL hook, I'm seeing one window created, and two windows destroyed at each iteration of encoding.

I'm not sure why I'm not seeing creation of the inner window - if it's not top-level, I guess there isn't shell notification -- is this a child window?

The smart answer would be "It works great -- no need for an update", which is at true, but not a good response. Actually I've been busy with a combination of BD Rebuilder and the "real job". If I relied on donations to DVD-RB for a living I'd have to give up a few of life's luxuries (like eating and having a roof over my head).

In fact there is a little cross-over activity going on. With my next version of DVD Rebuilder I'm hoping to include the ability to do movie-only to BD format (in AVC).
