Hello...

I need some help with a capture I have.
I capture my tv content with a very basic analog TV Card: Leadtek Winfast TV2000XP RM.
I capture using ChrisTV Pro using the software MPEG Encoder.
I live in Israel and we use PAL and so I capture to full DVD Resolution: 720x576.

Earlier this week, a favorite sitcom of mine started airing in our local channel, the sitcom is "The King of Queens".
that tv show is of course US originated and so I think the problem lies with this fact.

The problem with this tv show is that it is encoded or broadcasted not fully interlaced (576i) and not fully progressive (576p) - IT IS ALTERNATING!
this has never happened to me in any other show I've captured.

I uploaded a sample video: http://www.fileflyer.com/view/0uvgqB3
in this sample, You can see that it starts interlaced and after a while changing to progressive. this happens all throughout the episode!
Note: I know that the video is encoded as Progressive. It happens with every capture program I tried. I don't know what causing this and so I consider repalcing my tv card.

my questions are:
1. Deinterlacing
I want to compress the episode with xvid so it needs to be deinterlaced.
Do you have any preffered Deinterlacing approach which will deinterlace the interlaced parts and leave the progressive content intact?
I tried several deinterlacers: TomsMoComp,YADIF,SangNom,FieldDeinterlace, TDeint, LeakKernelDeint with default settings but none give me satisfactory results.

2. Can you tell me WHY this happens? I've never seen a TV-Show that alternates between interlace-progressive like this. :O
I guess there's a first time for everything :P

Thank you for any insight in this matter. :)

Looks like there's an extra field being inserted/dropped between scene changes. Try TFM() or telecide().
