View Full Version : Passing trim() to AutoGK?

I'm having the hardest time encoding an HDTV capture to XviD -- mainly having sync issues due to commercial cuts.

I've been trying to cut the commercials out with editors before loading the commercial-free source to AutoGK, but I've been having trouble with all the programs I've tried, whether it be file compatibility or sync issues, etc.

To be honest, I'd rather not go that route anymore unless someone can tell me how they're 100% successfully doing it.

I figure I can just work with trim() in Avisynth, but I don't know how to "pass" that to AutoGK; I figure it has to be sometime before AutoGK calculates the bitrate.

I sure wish AutoGK could just load avs files.

Can anyone help me?

You don't. Either use the more fully featured Gordian Knot, or encode manually.

There are a couple of add-ons that allow you to edit the .avs, but what's the point? AutoGK is meant to take the complexity out of encoding, and if you want to use more complex scripts, then I'd say AutoGK isn't for you:

The links to AutoGK Tweaker in the 2nd thread seems to be dead. Maybe someone can supply it to you if you decide you need it.
