Is it allowed to post a survey for software developers? The questions are mostly about the career itself, like advantages, disadvantages, etc. If so, in which subforum should I post it?

I'm considering to study something related to software programming as a second career, but I would like a few opinions from the experts in the matter to avoid making a choice I will later regret.
