Hi!
I want to now how can I compress big .mkv files. For example from 1920x*** or 1280x*** .mkv, I want to have 720x***. I've tried VDub +Avisnyth, but VDub can only save files as .avi, but I want to keep the .mkv extension. I'm also not sure wich codec should I use... AVC , 264...
Thanks for your help!

How did you make the .mkv file in the first place?

EDIT:
@mods, this thread (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=130539) created by sc0field should be locked due to Rule 6 violation.

Just re-encode from your original Blu-ray disc; you'll get much better quality.

How?

P.S
And anyway...is there a way to compress .mkv files or not?

OP raises rule 6 concerns and then evades the requests for clarification. Thread closed. OP can clarify matters in a PM to a mod if he believes this is not a rule 6 case.
