I making a backup of a blu-ray using eac3to and mkvmerge. The disc has forced subtitles which I've extracted using eac3to, and converted to SRT format using Subtitle Workshop.
I've demuxed the video and audio streams fine, and if I remux these to mkv format using mkvmerge, everything plays back fine at 24fps. Odd thing is, as soon as I add the subtitle file to the list of files in mkvmerge, the re-muxing completes ok, but when I play the resulting file back, it starts playing at 24fps, but after 30s or so slows down to ~19fps, sending video/audio out of sync. The forced subtitle track is actually only 8 lines of dialogue.
I've tried remuxing in various ways, extracting different audio streams, but it's always the same as soon as I add the subtitle track, and I can't see why this is happening.
I'm playing the mkv file back using MPC-HC (latest). eac3to is 2.63, mkvmerge is v2.30 and Haali is latest ver.
Any ideas?
