What exactly do you mean by "these dont work?" Your problem could be caused by any of a dozen or so things.

For general use you should be using DVD+R.

Hi!

It sounds like your newly purchased media is either of unacceptable quality or your burner simply doesn't "like" the brand...

Post a log of your burn.

Find NeroHistory.log and post it here.

First, you should edit your log and remove your Nero serial number.

Second, the only problem I see is with your files. There's no mention of a media issue, in fact the process never even got to the burning point at all. What was your process you used to get the files you're trying to burn?

@astros

Hi!Required file 'VTS_16_0.VOB' is not presentIt appears that the ripped DVD you're trying to copy was not properly/successfully ripped.

1) What is the Title and Region number of your original DVD?

2) What software and procedures did you use to rip the DVD?

I can't help but notice that your first impulse is often to ask the title and region of the DVD in question, even when at no point was there any mention that the original poster was attempting to make a back-up of a commercial DVD. I can only surmise that since I've already asked a question regarding how the files came about that your only purpose for a reply here is to once again try and dig out whether the OP is trying to sneak a request for help under the radar of rule 6.

@CWR03

Hi!

Please RE-read my well-thought-out post carefully, there's nothing impulsive on my part - The quote that I included from the OP's NERO log ("Required file 'VTS_16_0.VOB' is not present"] is a clear and almost certain indication that it refers to a commercial DVD that was improperly ripped - in which case it would be extremely beneficial to know the Title and Region number of the DVD, as well as the software and procedures used to rip it.

You might want to become better-versed in analyzing NERO logs...

OK you guys, cut it out please. CWR is obviously versed at reading the log - he pointed out the error in post 7. And setarip has not mentioned rule 6, as there is absolutely no indication that astros does not own the original DVD.

Clearly the DVD project, commercial or not, is missing a file. It may not be improperly ripped; it may just be the user has inadvertantly deleted the file (just speculation, but maybe it was 0 bytes and it has not been removed from the IFOs properly).

@astros - re-rip your DVD and see if that file is present.
