Need help with Terminator 2 Extended Special Edition

Hey guys, I used the search feature but didnt come up with anything for this. What I want to know is is there a way to make an Xvid rip of T2 extended special edition? I already have the DVD and copied it to my HD. As most of you know there are 3 versions of this film on the DVD, the theatrical, extended, and special extended edition. I know some of you had to come across this before and was wondering if someone could help. I would like to use Fair Use Wizard 2.8, but I am open to other options such as AutoGK. On a related note, by pressing 2,2,9,9,7 on the DVD while in my DVD player I can get the special extended edition but I was wondering if there was a way to do this on a software player on a computer DVD player?

Although i don't own that particular version, i would assume that you could rip it with DvdShrink 3.2 (because it is so old, i highly doubt that it has advanced copy protection) in Reauthor mode selecting only the version that you want, then encode with whatever you want.

Let me try that and see, right now I have the DVD decrypted on the HD and when I load it into Fair Use I can see TWO movies the theatre one and the extended one, and I notice the EXTRA 40 sec segments that are the extra 2 minutes on the "special extended edition". Im trying to see if i can go from there somehow.

But Im gonna give your DVD shrink thing a shot but I doubt I would get the special extended and rather might just get the plain old extended edition

Anyone else that might have an idea?

Edit: I tried DVD Shrink and I can get the Extedned Edition and I can find the extra two 40 second scenes under extras BUT how to i put them in the right place for the encoding/viewing? I feel that unless someone has a simple soultion Ill just have to do the Extended edition and skip on the Special extended, any help is appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Using DVD Decrypter in IFO mode will easily let you identify the different editions. Simply ripping the longest one will get you the "special extended edition." There are no advanced copy protections on the disk and it can be handled with DVD Decrypter with no issues.

Yes, Like I said, I am able to see both the theater version 137mins, and the extended 152mins......BUT the "special extended edition" is an addition of two scenes both around 40 seconds each and adds 2 minutes on the film. This you cannot see as a bulk movie like you can with the above ones, instead like I said, in DVD Shrink those parts are listed under extras and the main movies listed above are listed under VTS movie....so now do you understand, its alittle more difficult then you might think

Please carefully re-read the posts by "CWR03" - You are being directed to use "DVD Decrypter" instead of "DVD Shrink"...

Just want to double-check one thing, you are trying to rip the R1 release of the Ultimate Edition, right? I vaguely remember reading something about the R2 release not actually having the "extended special edition" extra scenes integrated into the main film.

Yes its the R1 T2, No I didnt read his comment incorrectly. I do have DVD Decrypt and used it to decrypt the DVD. Yes I can see in DVD Decrypt the parts of the movie that are added for the special extended edition, BUT I havent yet noticed a way to "place" then back in the movie at the correct time sequence since they both go in at different times. They both show up under a different VTS than the movie and are probably added in the "plain extended" version by some kind of IFO action which is activated by the DVD Remote. I have yet to find a way to access it on a software player on the computer. I am able to find them in the VIDEO_TS folder under a different VTS other than the two movies "theatrical and plain extended" but have yet to find a way to make them part of the "plain extended" and adding them in at the correct time they are suppose to.

Does this clear some stuff up?

BUT I havent yet noticed a way to "place" then back in the movie at the correct time sequence since they both go in at different times.If you look carefully at the screen ca[ture posted by "CWR03", you can see that PGC1 appears to be the "standard" movie, PGC2 appears to be the "extended edition", and PGC3 appears to be the "special extended edition".

By selecting ONLY PGC3, you won't have to worry about "placement", as PGC3 INCLUDESthe entire movie and all the bits in their proper places ;>}

I have to give that a look!, I obviously didnt look hard enough :/ but right now im finishing up my Jason series, and it isnt exactly being pleasant, some problems but nothing I cant handle......just time consuming

You have the "Extreme Edition," which contains the deleted scenes in separate files and aren't viewable as part of the movie. The Ultimate Edition is the same disk as the Extended Special Edition, simply relabled and bundled with a second disk of extras, both of which have the entire movie and deleted scenes combined as seen in my screenshot. Your only options are either to edit the scenes together yourself or buy one of the two later releases.
