Good Video Editor with direct x264 output Support

I am looking for a good video editor with an option to directly support fast rendering to x264 mp4 video. Not able to find one. Vegas has the MainConcept mp4 codec ouput which gives much lower quality compared to x264. I need support for VST Plugins, Chroma, PIP, Text captions and Changing Aspect ratio. Recording voice and AVCHD support would be an extra bonus. Any help would be great.

I don't know what "VST Plugins" are, but Avidemux comes with a great number of "built-in" video filters and it has got it's own Plugin system...

Is there an Audio plugin to further Stereorize (enhance stereo) for the audio? I use that VST plugin a lot. Is it possible to do Chroma for the videos? I see there is no timeline view. A timeline view would be great. VST plugins are the most popular video and audio plugins on the net. Support for VST would be great.

* There is no Timeline view, only a slider to seek through the video. And there's a Jog/Shuttle control.
* Audio filters are available, including "mixer" option to down-mix or up-mix channels (Mono -> Stereo, Stereo -> Mono, Sourround -> ProLogic, etc.)
* Not sure what you mean with "Chroma", because Chroma itself simply refers to one of the video channels (it's not a filter or effect)

But chroma keying is, and "chroma" is what virtually every editor I have ever met calls it, which might explain your confusion.

Don't think avidemux does chroma key, but that's what After Effects is for.

Not sure hat "Chrome Key" is, but there are "MPlayer Color Equalizer2", "MPlayer Hue", "Chroma Shift", "Chroma U only", "Chroma V only" and "Chrome Noise Reduction" in Avidemux.

It seems "Chroma Key" refers to the technique that is called "Bluescreen" in German.
Avidemux does not have such a filter yet...

I already edited my post. I was confused, because that thingy is usually called "Bluescreen" or "Greenscreen" in Germany :D

It is what most people call it in English too. Most haven't heard of chroma, mask, etc. Avisynth calls it colour key mask(ing).

If such filters are available for Avisynth, then "Chrome Key" can be used in Avidemux too, because Avidemux supports Avisynth-Input.

However it won't be as comfortable to use as the "built-in" filters...
